They contain active ingredients such as Tyrosine to help boost Melanin production. Melanin is the pigment that darkens the skin after UV exposure. They also supply your skin with much needed vitamins, minerals, amino acids and moisture. Lotions help you tan 50% more effectively than without using one. Dry skin reflects UV light instead of absorbing it.
Legs will tan; it’s just a slower process. Blood circulation in your legs can be less efficient. Specific leg tanning lotions often contain a Tingle or a Bronzer to help speed up the tanning process.
This is because you can use them during an indoor tanning session and outdoors! Always remember to apply an SPF over the top of any tan accelerating lotion used outside. NEVER use a Tingle lotion outdoors!
Use a moisturiser! Skin sheds every 3-4 weeks, so the tan achieved after a few sunbed sessions can disappear. Using a good mosituriser daily helps to hydrate & lock in skin’s moisture which makes a tan last longer! We always say ‘Moisturised skin keeps the tan locked in’

Not quite! Only cosmetic/instant bronzers can be washed off, most sunbed lotions contain Natural and/or DHA bronzers which do not wash straight off. DHA bronzers are delayed bronzers that help to maintain your tan for longer, Natural bronzers simply help to even out your skin tone while Instant bronzers provide immediate colour! The amount of Bronzer in a sunbed lotion is very minimal.
